Our flavored coffee is made using 100% Arabica beans - no fillers. Because of that, we use a lower amount of flavoring oils so the coffee is accented by the flavor, not over-powered.
Coffee is flavored shortly after roasting by using a flavoring oil. Once the roast is complete, and the beans are cooled down to room temperature, the flavor is added and mixed for about 5 minutes. After the mixing, the coffee is allowed to rest for a while to allow the flavor to be absorbed by the coffee. It's then bagged and ready for sale.
Its because of the flavoring oils that we don't date our flavored coffee. The oil coats the beans, and helps protect them from oxygen, one of the things that can make coffee stale.
